Let’s talk about wood – Aleksander Oniszh

During the Mood for Wood workshops, participants design and create wooden furniture/installations, which enhance the public space in Poznań. Appropriately selected and protected wood can serve for years.

Aleksander Oniszh will share his knowledge of this material. He is a designer and a craftsman who runs his own woodworking studio. He will talk about his craftsmanship and experiences with woodwork. We will learn, among other things, what to pay particular attention to in order to appropriately select wood for a specific project, which tools enhance the work of a carpenter and what are the methods of joining wooden elements. How the variable atmospheric conditions affect the wooden object and how to properly protect wooden surfaces depending on its use.

Aleksander Oniszh – born in 1984 in Warsaw. He studied architecture at the Architecture Department of the Warsaw University of Technology (2004-2007) and at Universität für Angewandte Kunst in Vienna (2007-2011). He is passionate about craft and design of industrial forms. Since 2013 he has been professionally engaged in carpentry and runs his own studio. www.oniszh.com
